Three generations after its start, Lakeside Farms still treats every day like the first.
Lakeside Farms began in 1948 when Jeff Pearce’s grandparents bought the land. Jeff, his wife Denise, his brother Richie now run the farm. Back in 1948, Jeff’s grandparents made and sold apple cider.
Lakeside Farms has since expanded to make and sell apple cider donuts, a breakfast and lunch menu, and a gift shop. In 1960, Jeff’s father started making apple cider donuts– the first of its kind. Now, apple cider donuts are one of the biggest sellers for Lakeside Farms.
“Quality has never changed,” Denise said. ”It’s nice to see the multiple generations of families come in.”
It’s a source of pride for the Pearces to be around for so long. Although this is cause for celebration, Jeff treats every new day as his first. This attitude allows for the quality to remain at its best and makes customers want to come back.
The customers are, without a doubt, what keep Lakeside going. The second the closed sign comes down, customers are outside. The loyalty of Lakeside’s customers shows exactly why Lakeside has existed for 75 years.
Jeff has worked at Lakeside Farms for almost all of his life. He has now started to step back a bit from his duties. However, he is trustworthy in those taking on his roles at Lakeside.
“This will be my 60th year this year since I’ve been doing little kid jobs,” Jeff said. “Not a lot of people can say that.”
All in all, Lakeside is happy to be celebrating 75 years and thanks all of its customers, new, old, or generational, for contributing to its success.
