ALBANY In one season, Joey DiPiazza’s “we-building” turned the Albany High School football program from a doormat into a respectable team, complete with a new, on-campus home field.
On Friday, Nov. 20, the Shaker High School graduate learned he was named one of four nationwide recipients of the Dove Men+Care Caring Coach of the Year Award at a surprise rally thrown in his honor.
“You know, there’s a lot of great coaches around the country doing great things for their teams,” said DiPiazza. “To be one of four coaches nationwide to be honored is incredible.”
