COLONIE — At any age, in any sport, when teams from North and South Colonie take a field, it’s a rivalry.
Wednesday, Aug. 5, was no exception, and the North Colonie 10U team earned town bragging rights by besting South Colonie 5-2 at Cook Park.
Griffin Durant led the North Colonie squad with two homeruns and three RBIs, the second, a two run shot over left center, coming in the top of the sixth to give his team a final 5-2 advantage.
Connor Sorrentino went 2 for 2 with two singles for North Colonie while Liam McLaughlin, Jake Gavin, Damari Davis and Jason Delgado added hits.
Billy Tricozzi had a double for South Colonie while Jacob Shaul added a single for the only two hits North Colonie pitchers gave up on the day.
