Tyrone Allington, 50, already serving time in state prison, was sentenced in Albany County Court on Thursday, Jan. 8, to two-and-a-half to five years in prison for felony identity theft. On Dec. 11, Allington pleaded guilty to the felony charge. He admitted to using another person’s identity to obtain a personal loan for $8,000 from a Colonie bank in September 2013. Police said he used the name, date of birth and Social Security number of another person to secure the loan, along with forging the victim’s signature. Allington resides at the Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Franklin County and was sentenced as a prior felony offender.
