GUILDERLAND — Newbury Comics opened the doors to its 31st store location, this one at Crossgates Mall, last week.
The Crossgates location, located on the lower level of the center near AT&T, is the sixth location for the store chain in the state of New York.

Founded in Boston in 1978, Newbury Comics celebrated its 43rd anniversary this year. The company employs over 400 people. For the last 43 years, Newbury Comics has been a champion of local artists and culture, allowing the brand to thrive and guaranteeing all who enter “a wicked good time.”
The mall’s newest attraction is focused on all things a pop culture purveyor would want in a store; vinyl records, Funko Pop!, and Manga to comics, pop culture items and more, offering an eclectic variety of goods that amuse, entertain and offer customers “a wicked good time.”
Crossgates offers the Capital District with an all-in-one destination for shopping, dining and entertainment with national brands and the newest retail concepts.
The center is anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Best Buy, while offering more than 180 retail shops, including Apple.
Crossgates offers 10 entertainment venues and over 20 on-site eateries, such as Dave & Buster’s, Get Air, Billy Beez, Apex Entertainment, The Standard Restaurant & Lounge, Maggie McFly’s and Regal Cinemas with IMAX.
