GUILDERLAND—On Tuesday, May 15, residents of the Guilderland Central School District approved a $100.9 million budget for the 2018-19 school year by a vote of 1402 to 566.
The budget represents an increase in spending of $2.4 million, or 2.48 percent, over the current year budget and will result in an estimated 2.22 percent tax levy increase. Tax rates are estimated to increase by 1.97 percent for residents of the Town of Guilderland.
Voters also approved a $1.1 million proposition to purchase eight large buses, one wheelchair-accessible bus, one transportation minivan, and one large track mower by a vote of 1411 and 548.
Four members were elected members to the Board of Education: Seema Rivera with 1423 votes; Christine Hayes with 1394 votes; Sean Maguire with 1378 votes; and Benjamin Goes with 1219 votes.
