COLONIE – A 48-year-old Schenectady man faces gun and larceny charges following an investigation on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Colonie police arrested Gregory Byer after he allegedly stole a firearm from a roofing business on Railroad Avenue. Byer was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies. He was processed and arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green.
Grand larceny
LATHAM – Colonie police arrested an Albany woman on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in connection with a theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Latham Farms. Ketia Louis, 43, allegedly stole items worth over $1,000 on June 12. She was charged with grand larceny, a felony, arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green, and released.
Naloxone administered in DWAI-Drugs case
LATHAM – Colonie police responded to a call about a vehicle causing annoyance on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6:19 p.m. near 664 Loudon Road. Officers found a 45-year-old Cambridge man unconscious behind the wheel. They administered Naloxone, and the man regained consciousness before being transported to Albany Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was later charged with DWAI-Drugs, a misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on Nov. 4.
Burglary at Target
COLONIE – An Albany man was transported from the Schenectady County Jail to Colonie on Thursday, Oct. 24, to face charges for two incidents at Target on Central Avenue. Andre Funt, 32, had been banned from Target for prior thefts but allegedly entered the store to steal items on Sept. 11 and 25. He was charged with two counts of burglary, both felonies, as well as two counts of petit larceny. He was arraigned and held.
Criminal contempt
COLONIE – Colonie police arrested Gerry Carr, 45, of Schodack Landing at the Red Roof Inn on Wolf Road on Thursday, Oct. 24, for being in the presence of a protected party on Sept. 19. He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt (prior conviction) and aggravated family offense, both felonies, and remanded to the Albany County Jail as a pre-arraignment detainee.
Larceny, three warrants, and bail jumping
COLONIE – A homeless woman was taken into custody after allegedly stealing at Kohl’s on Central Avenue on Friday, Oct. 25. Tanya Mackley, 43, also had three outstanding warrants from Colonie and was charged with bail jumping, a misdemeanor, for missing a July court appearance. She was processed, arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green, and later transported to Albany Memorial Hospital after complaining of abdominal pain.
Criminal contempt
COLONIE – Police responded to the Super 8 motel on Wolf Road on Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 p.m., where they found Timothy Toker, 30, of Latham, in the presence of a protected party. Toker was charged with first-degree criminal contempt (prior conviction), a felony. He was released with an appearance ticket, as criminal contempt is only bail-eligible if the protected party is a household member. Toker is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 13.
Grand larceny
WATERFORD – A Waterford man wanted in Colonie was detained on Saturday, Oct. 26, after being accused of stealing more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Price Chopper on Loudon Road on Monday, Oct. 7. Brandon Hotte, 44, was charged with grand larceny, a felony, and given an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on Nov. 6.
DWI
LOUDONVILLE – An 81-year-old Latham man was stopped near Siena College on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10:48 p.m. for following too closely and drinking an alcoholic beverage while driving. He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and ticketed for both infractions. He was released with an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on Nov. 4.
DWI after alleged collision
COLONIE – Colonie police responded to a possible accident on Albany Street at 5:41 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. Officers found a car with front passenger-side damage in the middle of the road. The driver, a 40-year-old Albany man, admitted to drinking and claimed he hit a rock. After failing field sobriety tests, he was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and ticketed for drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and failing to stay in a single lane. He was released with an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on Nov. 4.
Identity theft, conspiracy
COLONIE – A 33-year-old Buffalo woman, Alesaundra Allen, turned herself in to Colonie police on Monday, Oct. 28, for an incident at Colonie Center on Sept. 30. She was charged with second-degree identity theft and conspiracy (credit card), both felonies, and arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Andrew Sommers.
Canadian man arrested on child sex charge
CHAMPLAIN BORDER CROSSING – Canadian police detained Jocelyn Beauvil, 53, of Lachine, Canada, at the Champlain Border Crossing on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in connection with a 2017 incident in Colonie. Beauvil was turned over to Colonie police and charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child under 13, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in Albany County Court.
Domestic charges
COLONIE – A 40-year-old man who resides at the Albany Airport Hotel was arrested at a nail salon on Central Avenue on Tuesday, Oct. 29, for charges related to a domestic incident on Oct. 26 at the same salon. Wei Ping Hou was charged with burglary (a felony), as well as disobeying a mandate, petit larceny, and criminal mischief, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Andrew Sommers.
Warrant arrests this week
Bryant Amstrong, 37, of Schenectady, turned himself in on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for an outstanding warrant because he did not show up to court in September.
Jay Ernest, 41, of Averill Park, turned himself in on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for an outstanding warrant because he did not show up to court in October.
Bobby Witaker, 56, of Latham, was arrested at Broadview Credit Union after a complaint on Saturday, Oct. 26 and was found to be wanted for not showing up to court in October. He was given an appearance ticket.
Catherine Johnson, 61, of Loudonville, was interviewed for a domestic incident and found to have outstanding warrants on Monday, Oct. 28. She failed to appear in court in April and was also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Riley Houle, 28, of Castleton, was the subject of a call at Walmart on Loudon Road on Monday, Oct. 28 and found to have an outstanding warrant from State Police. She was transported to meet Troopers.
Cassena Robertson, 33, of Albany, turned herself in to Colonie police on Tuesday, Oct. 29 on an outstanding warrant for not showing up for court in October.
Alyssa Henderson, 30, who is homeless, was arrested and charged for a larceny at Macy’s on Tuesday, Oct. 29, but also had an outstanding warrant from Colonie for not showing up to court in October 2022. She was arraigned.
