COLONIE — The town will host Harvest Fest on Oct. 2 from noon to 4 p.m. at The Crossings.
The free community celebration will feature music and other entertainment, food, craft and other farmers market vendors. Free wagon and pony rides will be held throughout the day.
This year, Harvest Fest is sponsored by Capital Region Landfills, County Waste & Recycling, S.M. Gallivan and Pioneer Bank.
“Harvest Fest is one of our town’s most popular and well attended events, with an assortment of activities and fun for the entire family,” said Supervisor Peter Crummey.
A variety of musical acts will be presented in the Gazebo: The Teresa Broadwell Quartet from noon to 1 p.m.; the T.S. Ensemble Band from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
At noon there will be a presentation by Master Yang’s Martial Arts Center and at 1:00 p.m. there will be a presentation by the An Clár School of Irish Dance.
Returning again this year will be the Albany Drum Circle from noon to 1:15 p.m. and Ford’s Falconry will present its birds of prey demonstrations.
The William K. Sanford Town Library Youth Services will offer a puppet show, at 1 p.m. The Kids Health and Wellness Zone will feature entertainment and hands-on activities.
At 2 p.m. there will be a magic show by Melvin the Magnificent, at 3 p.m. there will be a children’s Yoga class. The Friends of the Pine Bush Community and the Shaker High School Robotic Team will also conduct activities for young people throughout the event.
