A 24-year-old homeless man was arrested for robbing the Shoprite Fuel Center on Central Avenue on Tuesday, July 19, and beating the clerk.
According to Lt. Daniel Belles, at around 10:30 a.m. the suspect entered the store at 1728 Central Ave., demanded money, assaulted the clerk and fled with a small amount of currency.

Officer Jacques Tremblay spotted Matthew Lora walking on Sand Creek Road, not far from the robbery.
Lora fled on foot but was subdued and taken into custody.
He stands charged with the felonies of robbery and assault. He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and remanded to the Albany County jail.
The clerk sustained serious injuries including a broken nose and a broken femur.
