Four men were arrested on weapon charges at the Days Inn hotel on Central Avenue.
According to reports, police responded to the hotel for a check subject call on Friday, June 17, shortly after midnight.
In the recent weeks, police have been responding to high crime areas in the Town of Colonie and that has included hotels along Wolf Road and Central Avenue. Earlier this month, four people were arrested on drug charges at the Red Roof Inn on Wolf Road.
According to reports, during the latest sweep those arrested are:
- Drahcir Dix, 18, of Schenectady. He stands charged with two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was the passenger in a car and upon a search of the vehicle police found a loaded handgun and a white powdery substance which later tested positive as cocaine.
- Tyree Currie, 19, of Schenectady. He stands charged with two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- Tysean Dixon, 19, of Poughkeepsie. He stands charged with two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and the felony of burglary as well as the misdemeanors of criminal mischief, criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
- Kenneth Simmons, 19, of the Bronx. He stands charged with two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
