COLONIE — Police are targeting high crime areas and in town that includes some of the hotels.
On Wednesday, June 1, after conducting surveillance at the Red Roof Inn hotel on Wolf Road and executing a search warrant on two rooms police arrested four people on drug charges, according to Colonie police Lt. Daniel Belles.
All four face the felony of criminal possession of a narcotic drug and the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
They are:
- Tara Newton, 30, of Cohoes
- Adrienne Wood, 39, of Albany
- James Gordon, 27, of Albany
- Joey Ganhadeiro, 36, of Colonie.
All four were processed at the Town of Colonie police station and arraigned in Colonie Town Court by Judge Andrew Somers.
A day before the arrests, Gordon was picked up on drug charges after getting pulled over for vehicle and traffic infractions on Tuesday, May 31.
According to reports, he was pulled over on Albany Shaker Road at around 10:40 p.m.
He was arrested on the felony of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance and ticketed for illegal use of a signal and driving too slow.
