COLONIE — A 49-year-old Valatie man was arrested during the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 3, for firing two shotgun shells into the ceiling of a room at the Hotel Trilogy.
According to Lt. Daniel Belles, police were called to the Wolf Road hotel at around 3:30 a.m.
Officers quickly located and detained Jeffrey Rowan.

It was determined he allegedly fired two rounds from a 12-gauge Mossberg into the bathroom ceiling of one of the hotel rooms. The rounds caused damage to the ceiling and other fixtures but did not penetrate any of the adjacent rooms.
There was one additional occupant in the room at the time of the incident. No one was injured.
The Mossberg shotgun was defaced — the serial number was filed off — and investigators are attempting to determine its origin, Belles said.
Rowan has a valid order of protection against him and as such, he is prohibited from possessing the shotgun.
Rowan stands charged with the felonies of criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief as well as the misdemeanor of criminal contempt.
He was arraigned in Town of Colonie Justice Court and released to the supervision of Albany County probation. Following the arraignment, he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
