COLONIE — A 41-year-old Halfmoon man was arrested on weapon charges after officers pulled him over for vehicle and traffic violations on Central Avenue.
According to Lt. Daniel Belles, officers spotted Brian Thompson commit the infractions at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 28.
Officers determined Thompson was intoxicated and he was arrested for DWI.
Upon further investigation, it was determined Thompson was in possession of a .380 handgun. He did not possess a state permit to carry the gun.
He stands charged with the felony of criminal possession of a weapon, the misdemeanor of DWI and numerous vehicle and traffic infractions including refusing to take a breath test.
