A 40-year-old Albany man was arrested on weapon charges after he was pulled over for vehicle and traffic violations on Central Avenue.
According to Lt. Daniel Belles, officers pulled over Jamall Morton near Reber Street at around 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 9.
After a brief investigation and interview a loaded Walther PPQ .4 mm handgun was located in the front seat of the vehicle. Morton did not have a permit and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
He stands charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, the misdemeanor of aggravated unlicensed operation and was ticketed for an open container in a motor vehicle and other vehicle and traffic violations.
