COLONIE — Police arrested two people for robbing two retail establishments armed with a crowbar.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, State Police in Clifton Park were investigating a stolen car case and determined a female suspect could have also been involved in the Jan. 15 Colonie robberies.
Following the arrest in the stolen car case, Scarlett O’Dell, 26, of Clifton Park, was interviewed by Colonie police and charged with the robberies on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Her co-defendant, 31-year-old William Jersey, of Schenectady, was stopped by State Police for driving the getaway car in the stolen car case, a 2015 black Volkswagen, and was later charged by Colonie police.
A search warrant was executed on the VW and Jersey’s residence and police found the crowbar and clothing worn in the robberies.
On Jan. 15, O’Dell allegedly entered the Northway Mobile at 610 Troy-Schenectady Road and the Game Stop at 800 Loudon Road armed with the crowbar. She demanded money and took off with less than $200 from the Mobile and nothing from Game Stop.
Jersey, who was arrested in the summer of 2019 for robbing the same Mobile, was allegedly driving the getaway car in both instances. He was out on bail while those charges are pending in court.
The pair are charged with the felonies of robbery and attempted armed robbery. They were arraigned in Colonie Town Court in front of Judge Peter Crummey, who set bail for Jersey at $35,000 and O’Dell at $3,500. They were due back in court on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
