The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Jacob Adams, a 33-year-old from Troy.
COLONIE —Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident on Troy-Schenectady Road.
According to Lt. Robert Donnelly, the driver of the motorcycle hit a utility pole in front of the business at 315 Troy-Schenectady Road at around 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved.
A witness told police the motorcycle was travelling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash but the investigation is ongoing, Donnelly said in a statement.
The westbound lane of Troy-Schenectady Road was shut down from Swatling Road to Glenwood Drive for several hours while the Colonie Police Traffic Safety Division conducted its investigation.
Colonie EMS responded as did Latham Fire Department.
