COLONIE – The driver of a Mr. Ding-A-Ling truck is under arrest for driving drunk.

According to police, Thomas Powers, a 51-year-old from Troy, was pulled over for not staying in the proper lane on Sherwood Drive near the intersection of Watervliet Shaker Road.

In addition to fudgsicles, officers found beer cans – two empty and three full –  in the truck and noticed Powers had slurred speech, poor coordination and an odor of alcohol.

He is charged with the misdemeanors of first offense DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 percent and aggravated operation of a vehicle with a BAC or more than .08 percent as well as drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

He was ticketed and is slated to be back in court on May 22.
