Colonie- Police located a car that was stolen from a 77-year-old woman yesterday afternoon.
The car, a gray four-door 2010 Honda Civic with New York plates, was recovered around 8 a.m. this morning on Delaware Street by Albany and Colonie police.
The suspect, who police described as a male with medium to dark skin, did not use any weapons and stole nothing aside from the vehicle. Police are still searching for him, and the car was towed to the Colonie Police Station to be examined.
According to a press release, on July 17, the victim had her car parked in the Christmas Tree Shop area of Colonie Center. Before she was able to exit the vehicle, the suspect opened her car door and began to punch her in the face and head. He then allegedly forced his way into the driver’s seat, drove to the parking lot of Inga’s Diner on Fuller Road and forcibly removed the victim from her car before driving away.
The victim was treated for head and facial injuries by Colonie Emergency Medical Services and then transported to Albany Medical Center for additional treatment.
