Latham Water District did not win the Albany County Tap Water Taste Test for the third year in a row. This 
year they were runner-up to the Village of Green Island, which scored 194 points to Latham’s 114.
Voters blindly sampled water from Latham Water District, the Village of Green Island, the City of Cohoes and the City of Albany between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the concourse at Empire State Plaze on Thursday, May 5, and a point system gave each competitor two points for each “best” vote and one point for each “second best” vote. The Village of Green Island will now participate in the regional competition at the New York State Fair this summer.
