GLENMONT – In 2004, Sejal Shah and her husband bought the Glenmont Centre Square Plaza. In 2009, Sejal’s beloved husband passed away leaving the business to his wife to then run.
With little experience in running the plaza, Sejal took it upon herself to make it something great.
Throughout the years she brought in new businesses to the plaza to better serve the community. In 2021, Sejal sold the motel and apartment complexes that she had owned for years and with the profits, she then invested into the plaza renovations. With the help of her two daughters and son, Sejal was able to renovate the plaza with a newer and brighter exterior.
Now at 70 years old and with seven grandchildren, Sejal says her dream has come true as she stopped for a look at the newly renovated plaza before heading back south to her home in Florida. Her inspiration for the bright facelift came from living in Florida and seeing the bright colors used to decorate plazas down south.
As mother’s day approaches and we celebrate the influential women in our lives, it’s important to know that at any age, gender, or circumstance, and with the help of your family you can still accomplish your dreams.
