Camp NaNoWriMo in July!
Do you know what NaNoWriMo means? It’s a catchy way of referring to National Novel Writing Month. Although NaNoWriMo usually takes place in November, we’re holding a special summer edition in July.
The goal of NaNoWriMo is to create the first draft of a 50,000-word novel during the month of November. The library is here to encourage that creative enterprise by offering writing and collaboration space in our board room for adults taking up the NaNoWriMo challenge.
Stop by the library to brainstorm, research, set your own goals and, most importantly, WRITE. We’ll be setting up shop every Friday afternoon in July. Stay for a half hour or the full time. Just bring your own laptop or pen and notebook. Laptops will also be available to borrow.
Social crafting
Working on a craft project at home? Want to show off your work in progress to other crafters? We’re holding an outdoor Open Craft Night Wednesday, July 5, from 6-7 p.m. Join us for an evening of all ages crafting and socializing on the Green. (If it rains, we’ll move inside.) Bring your own craft or start a new project with the supplies provided.
Great stories for grownups
If you like The Moth Radio Hour or Selected Shorts, you just might like our Story Time for Grownups. Enjoy a relaxing hour of short stories, essays, poetry or excerpts while you unwind with some coloring pages. Our first Story Time for Grownups takes place Monday, July 10, at 6 p.m. with another session scheduled for Aug. 14.
Note: This program may contain adult content and strong language, and is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.
