DELMAR – These are the Police briefs that appeared in October 26th edition of The Spotlight.
Parole violation arrest
DELMAR — Bethlehem detectives arrested Sean Kluge, 31 of Coxsackie, on Monday, Oct. 17 on felony parole violation.
Albany County Judge Andra Ackerman signed an arrest warrant for Kluge on Friday, Oct. 7 and he was located on October 17.
Kluge was arraigned and sent to the Albany County jail.
Schenectady man charged in motorcycle thefts
BERNE — Albany County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a Schenectady man on burglary and larceny charges from an August incident.
On October 13, Investigators arrested William Kelone, who is accused of entering a barn/garage and stealing three motorbikes valued at more than $7,000. Kelone was charged with burglary and grand larceny, both felonies, and conspiracy, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Berne Town Court and released under the supervision of probation and an order of protection was issued for the victim. The New York State Police assisted with the case.
Roll-over accident, DWI
VOORHEESVILLE — Albany County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Altamont Road on Thursday, Oct. 6 at approximately 4:46 a.m. where a vehicle rolled on its side.
When deputies arrived fire department personnel were extracting the driver from the vehicle, which was in the front yard of a home. The driver, a 53-year-old Altamont man, refused to go to the hospital and received only minor cuts and bruises. During an interview, deputies observed the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver’s breath. When asked how much he had to drink, the man responded “enough.”
He was given and failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a breath test.
He was taken into custody for DWI and also refused to submit to a breath sample at the police station. He was also ticketed for imprudent speed.
He was arraigned in New Scotland Town Court, released and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, Nov 3.
Warrant arrest on Coeymans town line
SELKIRK — Bethlehem police arrested a Coxsackie man on an outstanding warrant as he was walking southbound on Route 9W.
On Friday, Oct. 14 at approximately 4:42 p.m., officers observed Jeffrey Young, 51, walking in a fatigued state. The officer conducted a consensual encounter with him and he said he was walking home from St. Peter’s hospital.
Upon a check, Young had an outstanding warrant from Schenectady police department and was taken into custody. He was transferred to officers from that department after processing.
Traffic stop leads to arrests
DELMAR — On Saturday, Oct. 15, at approximately 12:13 a.m., Bethlehem police stopped a Gray Honda in the area of 225 Delaware Avenue because the vehicle did not have a front license plate.
The driver, John Hemingway, 58, and the two passengers, Gray Gabino, 46, and Victoria Buttiker, 38, all of Albany, were found to have active arrest warrants and were taken into custody.
Gabino also had Methamphetamine/Fentanyl in his wallet and Hemingway had crack cocaine in his pocket. While officers were conducting an inventory of the vehicle, they found numerous empty heroin needles throughout the vehicles.
Hemingway and Buttiker were questioned regarding a October 7 larceny that Buttiker was identified as the suspect in the case before they were transferred to Guilderland police on the warrants. Gambino was processed on drug charges and an open warrant from Bethlehem Town Court. He was arraigned by Bethlehem Justice Ryan Donovan and release on his own recognizance. Gambino is scheduled back in court on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
DWAI Drugs
on Thruway
GLENMONT — On Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 4:16 a.m., construction contractors on the Thruway near exit 23 called State Police to report that a man entered a coned off work zone, exited his vehicle and was acting distraught.
Troopers responded and determined the 44-year-old from Rensselaer was under the influence of drugs. He was taken into custody and transported to the barracks where he submitted to a blood test.
The man was charged with DWAI-drugs, a misdemeanor. He was transported to Samaritan Hospital for a mental health evaluation after making suicidal threats. He is due back in Bethlehem Town Court on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
