GLENMONT — A 25-year-old Claverack man was arrested for spitting on Bethlehem Police vehicles’ door handles and windshields outside the Glenmont Walmart on Tuesday, May 5 at around 8 p.m.

The incident happened at the Glenmont Walmart. Diego Cagara / Spotlight News

According to police reports, Bethlehem Police officers were at Walmart assisting a woman who was believed to be in labor after the store called for emergency responders. The woman was transported by Delmar-Bethlehem EMS to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

While assisting the woman, a person informed the Bethlehem Police officers that a male individual was spitting on their parked police cars’ door handles and windshields outside. After confirming the incident on video surveillance footage, the officers located the individual — Tyler C. Rossi — still shopping inside Walmart and arrested him.

Rossi was charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal tampering and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear at the Bethlehem Town Court on June 16 at 5:30 p.m.
