BETHLEHEM — Bethlehem police arrested a 39-year-old Manhattan man on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 8:17 a.m. in relation to an out-of-state indictment warrant.
William Sanchez had been driving a tractor-trailer on Feura Bush Road when police pulled him over for a violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. Upon checking his driver’s license, he was identified as being already wanted by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department in New Jersey on felony charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Sanchez was taken into custody and transported to the Bethlehem Police Department; he was then arraigned at the Bethlehem Town Court as a fugitive from justice and for disobeying a traffic control device. He was remanded to the Albany County Jail without bail by Judge Ryan Donovan and has a scheduled return court date of Tuesday, Mar. 5 at 4 p.m.
Sanchez would face an extradition hearing in the Albany County Court in the near future too.
