DELMAR—On Friday, July 6, the Bethlehem Police Department, assisted by the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant pursuant to an on-going investigation. They searched a home on Longmeadow Drive in Delmar and discovered a small marijuana growing operation and multiple weapons.

Also located inside the house was evidence of a larger growing operation that had been recently removed, as well as five cane swords, metal knuckles, thirteen Kung Fu throwing stars, two sets of chucka sticks, a metal knuckle knife, numerous daggers and a bullet proof vest.

Joseph J. Martin 42, and Daniel S. Johnson, 48, both of Delmar, were arrested and each has been charged with 12 misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing cannabis.

Both Martin and Johnson were arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court by the Judge Ryan Donovan and were remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of
$5,000 bail. A return court date has been set for Tuesday, August 7 at 4 p.m. The investigation was led by Bethlehem Police with the assistance of the Albany County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Unit.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information on these two subjects is asked to contact Bethlehem Police at 518-439-9973.
