BETHLEHEM — Five Bethlehem Central High School students were named All-State musicians at the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference Dec. 1-4 in Rochester. They were:
Jennie Tang, violin in the symphony orchestra
Ryan Vis, violat in the string orchestra
Eric Chang, percussionist in the wind ensemble
Jingxuan Liu, flutist in the wind ensemble
Matthew Fox, tenor saxophonist in the symphonic band
“The selection process was very competitive, and our honorees are representative of the finest student musicians statewide,” said district music department supervisor Dave Norman. “We are proud of these musicians for their initiative, hard work and achievement.”
The students’ trip culminated in performances at the renowned Eastman Theatre in Rochester.
