CLARKSVILLE — No one was hurt as a car rear-ended a school bus carrying 11 middle school students this morning, Tuesday, Sept. 27.
A Bethlehem Central School District bus carrying 11 students was rear-ended by a car while it was stopped to pick up a student on Delaware Turnpike in Clarksville. The student had already boarded the bus and was seated when the accident occurred.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene as did the school district’s transportation director. All students were checked by the driver and by emergency responders on site. No students were injured, nor were either of the two drivers.
Students were evacuated from the bus due to a fuel leak from the other vehicle. A second bus transported the students to the school where they were also checked out by the school nurse as a routine precaution. All parents of the students involved were contacted by Interim Principal Dave Doemel and informed of the incident.
The bus sustained some minor damage and no tickets were issued to the bus driver.
