GUILDERLAND — Capital District school districts, currently in need of substitute and longer-term employees, have organized a cooperative job fair next week to attract potential candidates to fill positions in all areas of operation.
Administrators from schools in North Colonie, South Colonie, Bethlehem, Guilderland, Shenendehowa, Albany and others will be available to meet with prospective employees on Thursday, April 21, from 3 to 7 p.m., in the Guilderland Senior High School gymnasium.
Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) representing the Capital Region and surrounding counties will be on hand to assist with the application process, and Regional Certification Officers will also be available.
Applicants are wanted for all of the following positions: bus drivers and attendants; custodial workers, food service workers; nurses; clerical staff; aides and class monitors; teachers; and teaching assistants. Longer-term vacancies are specifically anticipated in the the following areas: English as a second language; secondary special education; family and consumer sciences; German and Italian languages; math; technology; music; earth sciences; physics; IT; speech and language therapy; and social work.
