Bethlehem police responded to a car crash involving a pedestrian struck on Elm Avenue in Delmar on Friday, July 31 around 11:00 p.m. The pedestrian involved received serious injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment by Delmar-Bethlehem EMS and Albany County Paramedics. The driver, Michael F. Laccetti, 22, of Slingerlands, was charged with a felony count of aggravated vehicular assault as well as misdemeanor counts of DWI, after reportedly failing field sobriety tests on the scene. Laccetti was also charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of marijuana and the vehicle and traffic infraction of crossing hazardous markings. He was arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court on Tuesday, August 4, and released after posting $7,500 bail. The case was waived up to Albany County Court for action of the grand jury.
