This year, the library will be supporting “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” for our community wide donation drive.
SHP is a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids (ages 3-17) who are sleeping on the floor.
From September 15 through October 15, the library will be collecting new (in original packaging) twin sheet sets, comforters, and pillows.
Children’s or teen-themes are appropriate, as are solid colors. In addition, we’ll also be collecting funds to build beds. For more ways to be involved, visit www.shpbeds.org.
Thank you in advance, for your generosity.
Repair Cafe
Join us to watch and learn how to repair your basic household items with skilled repair coaches from Swift Road Wallace Park on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.
There is a limit of two items per household to be repaired, and not all items may be repairable.
Items include electronics, small appliances, textiles, bikes, wooden furniture, toys, jewelry. This is a free event, but new bicycle parts will incur their retail fee.
Family Walk
Families with children in grades 2-7 are encouraged to register for this family hike, 10:30 on Saturday., Sept. 24 at the Nature Center, Thacher Park..
We’ll be joining Nature Center educators to learn more about the native mammals living around us, as well as setting up trail cameras to monitor their movements and habits.
Preschool Storytime
It is such a beautiful time of the year, here in upstate New York. The air turns cool and the leaves change colors.
Children ages 2-5, w/caregiver are invited to join us at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, for an interactive Fabulous Fall storytime.
Our storytimes always emphasize early literacy, and include an art activity that can be done at the library or completed at home. No registration needed.
