COLONIE — The historic Pruyn House took a step back in history during its annual Old Fashioned on Sunday, Sept. 11.
The day, the 38th held by the Friends of the Pruyn House, included music from the Town Band, Old Tyme craft demonstrations like sheep shearing, blacksmithing, tinsmithing and honey extraction. The Buhrmaster Barn was full of vendors and the gardens were spectacular.
The tool museum, carriage house, school house and, of course, the Pruyn House were open for tours.
There were pony rides, baby animals, a magician, an art show, games by Girl Scout Troop 5008, and a wizard. The Kiwanis were grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie-burgers.
Friends of Pruyn House volunteers manned a Harvest Table for baked goods and there were flowers by Fort Orange Garden Club and dried floral arrangements by Blue Creek Garden Club.
