ALTAMONT — It was a perfect day on Saturday, Sept. 3, for the Capital District Scottish Games.
The Scots invaded the Altamont Fairgrounds and came complete with the highland athletic events – including the caber toss, the hammer throw, the stone put and sheaf toss — pipe and drum bands, Celtic dancers, clans showing off their heritage, Scottish dog breeds and Celtic music throughout the day.
There may have been a pint of two hoisted as well.
The one-day event has been held for more than 70 years and draws people from all over the northeast and Canada.
