PICK of the WEEK: The Dead and Spa City

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Smell the sweet air of happiness as Dead & Company roll into the Capital District to play the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, June 18.

The Grateful Dead is alive and well, with the help of some good Company. Dead & Company includes Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, John Mayer, Bob Weir, Otell Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.

The band is a hybrid of the original, which formed shortly after Mayer came across a Dead song while listening to the streaming service, Pandora.

Mayer and Weir performed together on the The Late Late Show in 2015, and the wheel started rolling for the band to perform together as Dead & Company.

Currently, there are no studio recordings from this lineup; however, there are recordings from each concert dating back to 2016 available on CD, iTunes and through Livedead.co.
