COHOES — Once heralded by Rolling Stone as “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline,” Wynonna Judd’s rich and commanding voice is treasured by millions of fans and has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, spanning her remarkable 35-year career.

Judd recently announced that she is taking her artistry in an exciting new direction by signing to the independent label ANTI- Records.

“Now more than ever, I am on a mission to rediscover the reason I got into this business,” said Judd, “and Anti- is giving me the musical freedom to do that.”

Inspired by this fresh creative direction, Judd recorded an a capella version of the classic Nina Simone song “Feeling Good” in her living room, straight into her iPhone. Listen to the intimate performance.

Respected by the millions of fans who are drawn to her music and undeniable talent, Judd’s rich and commanding voice has sold over 30-million albums worldwide spanning her remarkable 34-year career. As one-half of the legendary mother/daughter duo “The Judds,”

Judd has received over 60 industry awards, with countless charting singles, including 20 No.1 hits such as “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Why Not me,” and “Grandpa, (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Ole Days).”

Judd and her band The Big Noise, led by her husband/drummer/producer, Cactus Moser, released their debut full-length album in February 2016 via Curb Records to critical acclaim. Wynonna has described the new sound as “vintage yet modern” and a “return to the well.” It’s a rootsy work encompassing country, Americana, blues, soul and rock. The album features special guests Derek Trucks, Jason Isbell, Susan Tedeschi and Timothy B. Schmit. NPR’s Ann Powers noted that, “With her tight band behind her after touring together for several years, she just sounds like she’s home…You can just feel the grin on her face.”

Judd will be on tour throughout the United States this year with her band The Big Noise. The tour stops at the Cohoes Music Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Ticket prices are $39, $59, $69 and $79 each. There are a limited number of VIP seats in first two rows at $99. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 26, at 10 a.m.  Purchase tickets by phone at 518-953-0630 or in person at the Music Hall Box Office Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or online at www.thecohoesmusichall.org.
