DELMAR – The little town of Bethlehem hosted revelers to their first night of 2019 with a series of family friendly shows and events throughout the center of town on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Umbrellas were in bloom as hundreds of people made their way to several venues hosting events along Delaware and Kenwood avenues, starting with the annual fireworks display at 6:30 p.m. Shoppers walked into Delmar Market Place and a jazz concert broke out. The rain moved the outdoor show indoors in the market’s freezer aisle, lending a new meaning to cool jazz.
It was a festive night that allowed many to see similar out of the ordinary scenes, with Irish step dancers at the Delmar Reformed Church and the Bethlehem Public Library opened beyond its usual 9 p.m. close time. There, people were able to have their pictures taken from a virtual Times Square and other locations by means of green-screen technology.
