TROY — Raggae, rap, beatbox and alternative rocker Matisyahu will return to the Capital District on Thursday, Nov. 1, when he performs at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
On his latest tour, Matisyahu performs acoustic versions of his chart-topping songs, including two of his biggest hits, “King Without A Crown” and “One Day.”
He performs in Troy following sold-out performances all around the US. Described by the Miami New Times as “tremendous, zen-like, and enlightening,” Matisyahu brings stripped back versions of his songs, along with selections from his vast catalogue and from his newest release, “Undercurrent.” This record, his sixth studio album, has been described as his most courageous release to date and lyrically his most vulnerable.
On this tour, Matisyahu presents his music in its most raw form, allowing his voice and beat-boxing, paired with inventive guitar arrangements, to expand through a lyrical intensity and musical improvisation. This format naturally digs deep into the meaning of the songs themselves, and lays Matisyahu’s spiritual journey bare, fostering a closeness to the artist-fan relationship.
Ticket are priced at $39.50, $35.50 and $29.50 each, and can be purchased at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Box Office. The box office is located at 30 Second St. in downtown Troy, and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall and upcoming programs, visit troymusichall.org.
