ALBANY — Watch out. Frank Castle may be in town.
That’s the news on the streets, anyway.
Albany announced the closure of several of its streets for this week for the filming of a television show.
The City of Albany announced roads would be closed as early as Monday, July 16 and run through to Saturday, July 21.
Central Avenue Business Improvement District tied the production to an ABC Studios television show labeled “Crime” in an announcement it posted onto Facebook on Tuesday, July 12.
“Crime” is the oft-used working title for the ABC Studios production Netflix television series “The Punisher,” according to IMDB.com.
The popular series is based on Marvel Comic’s book series of the same name. The television series debuted last November as spin off of “Daredevil.”
“The Punisher” follows the storyline of Frank Castle, a vigilant who uses his exceptional military training to fight crime without limits. Castle story begins as he exacts revenge on the people responsible for the death of his family.
The series, starting Jon Bernthal in the title role, was renewed for a second season last December.
North Albany, the Warehouse District and portions of downtown Albany will be impacted by the closures and detours.
