TROY —  The 11th Annual Troy Pig Out will take place at Riverfront Park on Saturday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A full day of family fun where culinary competitors duke it out for the best BBQ, Troy Pig Out offers activities for all ages, palettes, and interests. The festival includes a hot dog and pie eating contest, cornhole competition, the Dinosaur BBQ People’s Choice Awards, food and craft vendors, live music throughout the day and fireworks over the Hudson River at dusk!

Troy Pig Out features live music by Sly Fox & The Hustlers, Vinny Michaels, Patrick Sharrow, Victory Soul Orchestra and Tom McWatters. Are you a quick eater? Have a good shot? Stick around between bands to experience the third annual Hot Dog Eating Contest with Famous Lunch, and participate in the Collar City Cornhole Tournament with free tournaments beginning at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. Cornhole is open to all ages and the hot dog eating contest is limited to ages 18 and older. Sign up for both at downtowntroy.org/troy-pig-out.

There will be plenty of activities for the whole family, including a piggybank painting project and a tent to see owls, hawks and ravens up close. Stroll through the craft vendors offering clothing for all sizes, seasonings and sauces, locally made t-shirts, photographs by a local photographer and jewelry (Egyptian, sealife objects and semi-precious stones).

Hungry? There will be a whole roast pig, all the BBQ you can get your hands on, Caribbean cuisine, salt potatoes and corn on the cobb, a 7 tap old-fashioned soda truck, maple cotton candy and ice cream cookie sandwiches! Vegans and vegetarians are welcome, with spinach quinoa quesadillas, cinnamon roasted nuts, fruit smoothies, and kettlecorn!

Taking place again this year will also be the Dinosaur BBQ People’s Choice Awards, back with $2 pork rib tickets for sale starting at 3 p.m. at the information tent located at the entrance of Front Street. Redeem your ribs at your chosen competitors from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All votes must be handed in by 7 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., the winners of the Troy Pig Out BBQ competition will be announced for best BBQ chicken, best pulled pork, best pork ribs, and best beef brisket, the Dinosaur BBQ People’s Choice award winner, Mayor’s Choice, and the Grand Champion.

The 11th Annual Troy Pig Out is sponsored by Saratoga Eagle, Judge Development Co., The Times Union, CDTA, Pioneer Bank, the Tri-City Valley Cats, United Group of Companies, Dalle Accounting, Callanan Industries, Inc., the Northeast Kidney Foundation, County Waste & Recycling, The Chazen Compaines, FoodScraps360, and Pattison Sampson Ginsberg and Griffin.
