NIGHT and DAY: Formula 5 and board games

NIGHT

Putnam Place – Saturday, Feb. 10

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Formula 5 and Strange Machines will perform at Putnam Place on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Formula 5 is an improvisational rock band from Albany.  It plays both distinctive originals and familiar covers, blending high-energy rock-and-roll with tasteful grooves. Strange Machines fuses rock, funk, livetonica, reggae, metal and jazz. It has played numerous sold out shows and festivals within its first couple years and  have opened for national-touring acts such as Dopapod, Deep Banana Blackout and Turkuaz among many more.

This show is ages 18 and older.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. There is a $5 surcharge for attendees under 21.

Putnam Place is located at 63a Putnam St. in Saratoga Springs.

DAY

University at Albany — Saturday, Feb. 10

ALBANY — Join The Guild at the University at Albany to celebrate the impact of board games at the University Art Museum on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Across the world, games bring people together and act as a touchstone for peace. Learn how by playing a variety of board games. Members of The Guild will be present to teach unfamiliar and new games.

The University Art Museum is located at 1400 Washington Ave. in Albany.
