SCHENECTADY — Some of the Capital District’s top musicians take on the challenge of personifying some of rock and roll’s all-time greats for a good cause.
“Groovin’ … A 60s & 70s Musical Journey” takes place Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. on the mainstage at Proctors, 432 State St., Schenectady.
The show features Tommy Love (Mick Jagger, Robert Plant), Collette McComb (Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick, Carole King), Lenny Thomas (Elton John), Krista David (Linda Ronstadt) and more performing the rock hits of the 1960s and 1970s. They will be backed by a live band featuring a horn section, as well as three dancers.
Part of the show’s proceeds benfit local war veterans. This year, proceeds will support the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Fund.
Tickets range in price from $22 to $38. For more information or to buy tickets, call the Proctors box office at 346-6204 or visit www.proctors.org.
