TROY — On Sunday, Oct. 9, it’s all about “Soup For The People” during the Downtown Troy BID’s 10th Annual Chowderfest.
From noon to 4 p.m., more than 15,000 chowder lovers will descend upon the Collar City to taste and judge some of the best chowders in the area to crown this year’s winner.
First, head over to Monument Square to purchase your tasting tickets and inquire about the prizes you could win just for participating! While you’re there, listen to some free live music while you browse to see what the vendors have to offer. Or, partake in one of the free children’s activities that will be going on throughout the afternoon. Live music performances will also be taking place at several other locations downtown at various times during the event.
From there, hop on the Chowder Shuttle and make your way to your favorite Downtown Troy eateries to sample the chowders they’re distributing.
Be sure to check out the city’s other businesses as you stroll between restaurants, and be on the lookout for some fantastic deals during a citywide sidewalk sale.
