The leaves are just starting to turn and the harvest is splendid; it is time to gather and celebrate the fall season. The annual Fall Fest at Schodack Island State Park is Saturday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be a $6 Vehicle Use Fee to enter the park.
This year’s Fall Fest will feature live music with Castleton Stomper, Painting on the River, local food vendors, kids craft tent, live animals, photo booth, kids maze, Freckles the Clown, bounce house, as well as games, prizes, and free cider and doughnuts! Help families in need by bring non-perishable food items for a food drive through the Anchor Food Pantry in Castleton. Donate a bag of food and get a free 4-inch by 4-inch family photo from the photo booth.
Make a weekend of the fall fun by camping out in the park! Schodack Island State Park has the newest campground in the New York State Parks system. Book your camping reservation at www.reserveamerica.com. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.
