Bike with a Docent Learn about the park from a docent on a leisurely ride along our trails. Bring your own bicycle. Helmets are required for children under 14.
History Stroll Join a docent for a short walking tour to discover the history surrounding the park and how it continues to shape the region today.
Saving the Springs Learn about the historic struggle to save the mineral springs of Saratoga and how it impacts the park today.
Springs Tour Enjoy a refreshing springs walk that describes the different springs, how they came to be, and why they taste different from each other.
Streamside Walk Learn about the unique qualities that make Geyser Creek an important part of the park ecosystem.
Trails of the Park Take a moderate hike around Saratoga Spa Park with a park docent.
Tree Wander Identify several key tree species that are historically significant to the park and learn why they grow where they do.
Whose Habitat? A habitat is a home! Explore three different habitats within the park and understand why each is important to different species.

Ants live on nearly all of Earth’s land masses, where they busily shape our ecosystems, yet they are often outside the reach of our attention. Come join us for a very short hike (approximately one-quarter mile) where we will look for some of the 53 different species of ants that call the Pine Bush home and learn about their peculiar and fascinating habits. Ages 6+.
Pre-registration is required for all events.
Fee: $3.00/person, $5.00/family.
Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of the program to purchase your ticket.
Tickets can also be purchased in advance of the program at the Discovery Center reception desk.

While leashed pets are permitted on marked trails, we ask that visitors not bring pets to our educational programs.

All Aboard…Next Stop Karner Station
Gain exclusive access to the world of the Karner blue butterfly in the latest special exhibit at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center. This extraordinary exhibit called Karner Station is free and will take wing on June 3rd.
The adventure begins, near the old whistle stop at Karner Train Station, where the remarkable Karner blue butterfly was first documented. Moving along the tracks, visitors explore the important world of this federally-endangered butterfly; including how it was discovered, what makes it unique, where it lives, what the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission is doing to protect it, and how you can help.
Don’t miss your opportunity to board the train to Karner Station as this amazing experience will end in December 2016.
