Black Arts and Cultural Festival Saturday at Empire State Plaza

ALBANY — The Black Arts and Cultural Festival takes place Saturday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza Concourse in Albany.

Headlining this year’s festival is Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Sounds of Blackness. There will also be a Def Jam Poetry reunion hosted by Danny Simmons.

Other highlights include performances by Wassa Pan Afrika Dance Ensemble, Scholastic Talent Showcase winners Young Noble Gentlemen and the Jubilee Gospel Community Choir; exhibits, art displays, information booths and much more.
