ALBANY Albany Academy used a 22-6 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 73-48 victory over Voorheesville in a non-league boys basketball game Sunday, Jan. 31.
Hameir Wright netted 16 points, and Will Bennett chipped in with 11 points for the Cadets, who held a 33-26 halftime lead. Voorheesville’s Scott Glasheen led all scorers with 23 points.
Albany Academy hosted four games overall on Sunday. In earlier contests, Watervliet edged Hoosick Falls 54-51, while LaSalle defeated Colonie 58-51.
Ty’Jon Gilmore scored 26 points to lead Watervliet to the three-point win. Connor McCart’s 27 points paced Hoosick Falls.
Ian Duncan had 12 points, and Joe DeLollo added 11 points for LaSalle in its victory over Colonie. Josh Paszkowski poured in 18 points, and Bryce Waterman contributed 14 points for Colonie.
