ALBANY COUNTY Burnt Hills/Ballston Spa scored four times in the second period and held on for a 4-3 win against Shaker/Colonie Saturday, Jan. 23, in a Capital District High School Hockey League game at the Albany County Hockey Facility.
Alec Lind had two goals and an assist during the decisive second period, and Georgan Buffoline added what proved to be the game-winning goal for BH/BS.
Mark Egan tallied twice, and goaltender Connor Harris made 22 saves for Shaker/Colonie.
Elsewhere, Bethlehem defeated Niskayuna/Schenectady 5-3, despite 55 saves from Mohawks goaltender James Blanchfield.
Matt and Mike Bievenue each had a goal and an assist for the Eagles. Mike Lemieux, Andrew Yanowsky and Thomas Liebold scored Bethlehem’s other goals, and Brian Harder added a pair of assists.
Cliff Vitkin led Niskayuna/Schenectady with a goal and two assists.
Boys basketball
Green Tech used a balanced attack to defeat Bethlehem 78-47 in a non-league boys basketball game at the Washington Avenue Armory.
Neftali Lind and Dasier Lukes each scored 11 points for Green Tech, which built a 37-18 halftime lead. Matthew Riker netted 11 points, and Zane Thompson added 10 points for Bethlehem.
