CAPITAL DISTRICT Shenendehowa dominated the first eight minutes of the game on its way to a 67-34 victory over Bethlehem in a battle of Suburban Council unbeaten girls basketball teams Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Sydney Brown netted 18 points, and Carly Boland contributed 13 points for the Plainsmen, who jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter. Emily Wander led Bethlehem with 10 points.
Meanwhile, Shaker needed overtime to edge Guilderland 58-57. The Blue Bison rallied from a 31-18 halftime deficit by outscoring the Lady Dutch 24-11 in the third quarter.
CeCe Mayo had 14 points, and Shyla Sanford added 13 points for Shaker. Olivia Bauman paced Guilderland with 17 points, while Skye Lindsay chipped in with 15 points.
Colonie built a 34-20 lead and held on for a 43-38 Suburban Council victory over Niskayuna. Erin Fouracre poured in 19 points for Colonie, while Olivia Owens netted 21 points for Niskayuna.
Voorheesville defeated Watervliet 63-41 in the Colonial Council. Rachael Bogdany’s 18-point performance paced Voorheesville.
In the Central Hudson Valley League, Loudonville Christian handled Waterford 54-32. The Eagles pulled away by outscoring the Fordians 35-14 in the second half.
Lesha Tenney had 20 points, and Genevieve Swanson added 14 points for Loudonville Christian. Annalise Rebel scored 10 points for Waterford.
