The Guilderland girls soccer team withstood intense pressure from Niskayuna’s offense to pull off a 1-0 Suburban Council victory Thursday, Sept. 11, in Guilderland Center.
Bree Ford’s corner kick goal in the first half gave the Lady Dutch (2-2-0) the lead, and goaltender Taylor Dorado made it stand by stopping 13 Niskayuna shots.
It was Guilderland’s second consecutive victory following season-opening losses to Bethlehem and Columbia, and Niskayuna’s first setback of the year following four straight wins.
Elsewhere, Shenendehowa (4-0-0) edged Bethlehem 1-0 in Delmar. Kelsie Moinzadeh tallied in the 65th minute off a feed from Katie Benson to put the Lady Plainsmen on top.
Bethlehem’s record dropped to 3-1-0.
