The Shaker/Colonie Jets won for the fourth time in their last six games by tripping up Glens Falls/Hudson Falls/South Glens Falls 5-2 in Saturday’s Capital District High School Hockey League contest at the Albany County Hockey Facility.
Brendon Closs recorded a natural hat trick and finished with four goals to lead the Jets (3-3-0 league, 7-6-0 overall). Closs tied the game at 1-1 with 3:27 left in the first period and tallied the first two goals of the second period to record the natural hat trick (three consecutive goals).
Kevin Egan added an insurance goal midway through the third period, and goaltender Zach Dignum had 19 saves for Shaker/Colonie, which moved into a fifth-place tie with Bethlehem in the CDHSHL standings.
