In a back-and-forth race, Guilderland’s Cara Quimby got the nod over teammate Morgan Hardt as your choice for the Suburban Council’s most dangerous goal scorer in girls lacrosse last week. Now, we hit the baseball diamond to ask you which Class AA team will be the Suburban Council’s No. 1 seed for the playoffs. Your four choices (as determined by the current standings) are:
Bethlehem — Currently second behind Columbia in the South Division standings with an 8-4 record, but the Eagles still have a chance to steal first place from the Blue Devils if they win out and Columbia loses down the stretch.
Columbia — The Blue Devils own a three-game lead on Bethlehem and are tied with Shenendehowa for the best league record at 11-1, but tough battles against the Eagles and Colonie lie ahead.
Shaker — Tuesday’s 10-1 loss at Ballston Spa hurt the Blue Bison’s chances of catching Shen for the North Division lead, but they are only two games back of the Plainsmen with a 9-3 record and they have a rematch with Shen next week.
Shen — The Plainsmen are looking good with an 11-1 league record, but anything can happen in the Suburban Council as was proven with Ballston Spa’s win against Shaker.
Voting is open until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
